Halifax Intermediaries wins mortgage award
Halifax Intermediaries was voted as the Best Lender for Intermediaries at the Legal & General Mortgage Club Awards last week.
In an event that was hosted by The Guildhall, London and included a keynote speech from economics editor of the Sunday Times David Smith, lender activity over the last 12 months was recognised.
All categories are voted for by the 8,000 mortgage broker members of Legal & General's club.
BM Solutions was presented with the Best Lender for Buy-to-let Products accolade, Nationwide for Intermediaries won the Best Lender for New Media and there were various other prizes.
The evening came in the week the Bank of England reported an increase in mortgage approvals in May - to 43,200.
Ben Thompson, director of mortgages at Legal & General, said: "It's been an extremely difficult 12 months, but these lenders are showing that they can do well by maintaining very high standards."
Mortgages for professionals is a whole-of-market broker providing expert mortgage advice to high earning professionals such as pharmacists, engineers and doctors.
