Average UK estate agent ‘makes 10 sales in April’
These findings came from the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), which has indicated that confidence in the housing market is now on the up.
Increased belief in the property sector could lead to more people with mortgages for professionals buying their first homes.
Chief executive of the NAEA Peter Bolton King said the latest survey results were good for the industry as a whole.
"Six months ago people were talking about how British people's attitude to owning property had changed in the recession," he explained, before suggesting the NAEA had never held this view.
Demand for property has always been there, but there was a lack of confidence, he added.
Nationwide Building Society recently indicated that the average cost of a UK property is £151,861.
